Date: 5-27-2024: Testimony of, Timothy R Thompson: Member of, “The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints”.
To my cherished brothers and sisters,
I am writing to share my testimony and experiences with you, particularly regarding my journey of faith and the impact it has had on my life.
As a believer in the Lord Jesus Christ, I understand and appreciate the love and value that He brings into my life. One aspect of my faith that I hold dear is the opportunity to share my testimony, which is a practice I cherish within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
There was a moment during one of these testimonial opportunities where I felt compelled to speak from my heart, only to be interrupted and prevented from fully expressing myself. This experience made me realize that not everyone may be ready to hear the message I have to share.
In 2010, I delved deeply into the study of prophecy, and the knowledge I gained resonated deeply within me. The realization of how close we are to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ struck me profoundly, and the truth of this revelation affected me to my core.
Now, in 2024, I have realized that the best way for me to exercise my freedom of speech and share my beliefs is through starting a podcast. The idea of utilizing this platform to spread the teachings and messages that have shaped my faith excites me, and I am eager to embark on this new chapter.
Reflecting on my journey of faith, I recall the transformative experience of learning about The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at a young age of 17. As I grew older, the truth of this restoration became increasingly clear to me, supported by the scriptures and teachings that I have embraced.
I am passionate about sharing these truths and insights with others, and I am committed to using my voice to spread the message of faith, hope, and love. I believe everyone has the freedom to accept or reject these beliefs, and my goal is to offer a platform for open dialogue and discussion.
I want to share with you a significant moment in my life that took place on April 20, 1980. On that day, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints baptized me, marking a pivotal moment in my spiritual journey.
Anticipation and reflection characterized the events leading up to that moment. One particular moment stands out in my memory – the conversation I had with my father the day before my baptism. I vividly recall the mix of nervousness and determination as I paced back and forth, preparing myself to share the news with him.
As the clock ticked closer to 8:00 p.m., I mustered the courage to approach my father and share my decision with him. With a heart full of emotion, I expressed my intention to be baptized the following day, on Sunday. It was a heartfelt and genuine moment.
I want you to know that my choice to be baptized is deeply personal, rooted in my faith and my commitment to my spiritual journey. While there are many who may not agree with this decision, I hope you can respect and support me in this important step in my life.
I told my father that I plan on being baptised the next day and he said that I can not, and then repeated myself. I plan on being baptised. He then said if I get baptised that I mightiest well pack my things and leave. I said, ok and then went upstairs and pack my things and left home. I went over to my friend’s house, Janice and Charles Keene, and told them what had just happened. Anticipating my father’s reaction, I prepared myself.
Although it wasn’t a simple choice, I believed it was crucial for me to leave home in order to remain true to myself and my principles. This decision was driven by my love for the Lord and my desire to do what is morally correct. When I think back, I can see that I have made a lot of bad choices throughout my journey. However, my belief in Christ has remained constant.
I was fortunate enough to have the support and understanding of Janice and Charles Keene during that moment, as they kindly let me stay with them. I express gratitude for their friendship and the trust I have in confiding in them about recent happenings. After a brief period of a few months, they asked me to leave. It was at that moment when my journey had only just begun. I could maintain a balance between work and school during my last year of high school. I walked close to 4 miles sometimes to get to school.
I have a powerful testimony and a deep love for the Lord Jesus Christ and a great appreciation for all that he has done. It is my prayer and desire to have a place in heaven where one can dance, sing, share our testimony using music, play an instrument, and do it in a way that pulls everybody together. And for all those who wish to take part, one can share their powerful testimony with a song from the heart.
The war that is in heaven and earth will end. We will all see that day. I just pray that many people will wake up and be on the right side. I give Glory to God and I’m thankful and I thank you for taking the time to read this most important testimony as I share my deepest thoughts. May God bless you and I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, my Lord and savior. Amen.
I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ,
Thank you, Timothy R Thompson – My Testimony
