NOTE: It is important to note that there is some confusion regarding the year of his birth, as some sources show it was zero, while others show it was one. I know it is zero. Allow me to explain the reasons behind this. The year zero marks the beginning. You travel back in time to reach April. You always begin with zero, not one. If you encounter any articles mentioning the year one, consider it to be zero.

PROPHECY OF THE LORD’S 1ST COMING, BIRTH
No other figure in history fulfills Old Testament prophecies as perfectly as Jesus. To emphasize this, here are more than 18 of the most interesting prophecies that show Jesus as the promised Messiah.
- Micah Chapter 5 Heading: The Messiah will be born in Bethlehem. In the last days, the remnant of Jacob will triumph gloriously over the Gentiles.
Micah Chapter 5:2 But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah, though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting.
- He would be born from a virgin – Isaiah 7:14 Therefore, the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
- He would be worshipped and given gifts at his birth. Psalm 72:10
- His ministry would be preceded by a voice calling in the desert – Isaiah 40:3-5
- The voice of him that crieth in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the Lord, make straight in the desert a highway for our God.
- Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain:
- And the glory of the Lord shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the Lord hath spoken it.
- He would come riding on a donkey. Zechariah 9:9 Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion; shout, O daughter of Jerusalem: behold, thy King cometh unto thee: he is just, and having salvation; lowly, and riding upon an ass, and upon a colt, the foal of an ass.
- His message of salvation would also extend to the Gentiles. Isaiah 42: 1-4
- Heading For Isaiah Chapter 42: Isaiah speaks about the Messiah—The Lord will bring His law and His justice, be a light to the Gentiles, and free the prisoners—Praise the Lord.
Isaiah 42: 1 Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I have put my spirit upon him: he shall bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.
Isaiah 42: 2 He shall not cry, nor lift up, nor cause his voice to be heard in the street.
Isaiah 42: 3 A bruised reed shall he not break, and the smoking flax shall he not quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth.
Isaiah 42: 4 He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the aisles shall wait for his law.
- He would be despised and rejected. Isaiah 53:3
Isaiah Chapter 53 – Entire Chapter
Isaiah speaks about the Messiah—His humiliation and sufferings are described—He makes His soul an offering for sin and makes intercession for the transgressors—Compare Mosiah 14.
1 Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed?
2 For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
4 Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and with his stripes, we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned everyone to his way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep, before her shearers are dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
8 He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
9 And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
10 Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
11 He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
12 Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
- He would be portrayed for 30 pieces of silver. Zechariah 11:13
CHAPTER 11 HEADING
Zechariah speaks about the Messiah. The Messiah will be betrayed for thirty pieces of silver. They will be cast to the potter in the house of the Lord.
Zechariah 11:13 And the Lord said unto me, Cast it unto the potter: a goodly price that I was prised at of them. And I took the thirty pieces of silver, and cast them to the potter in the house of the Lord.
- His hands and feet would be pierced. Psalm 22:16 For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet.
- Lots would be cast for his clothes. Psalm 22:18 They part my garments among them and cast lots upon my vesture.
- He would die and pour out his blood for our sins. Leviticus 17:11 For the life of the flesh is in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it is the blood that maketh an atonement for the soul.
- He would ascend to heaven and after hearing. Psalm 68:18 Thou hast ascended on high, thou hast led captivity captive: thou hast received gifts for men; yea, for the rebellious also, that the Lord God might dwell among them.
- Isaiah 28:16 – Old Testament
Yeshua’s rejection by his people is a fulfillment of the prophecy in Psalm 118:22 which reads, Psalm 118:22 The stone which the builders refused becomes the headstone of the corner.
Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious cornerstone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.
- The Timing of the Lord : Daniel 9: 24-26
Daniel 9: 24 Seventy weeks are determined upon thy people and thy holy city, to finish the transgression, and to make an end of sins, and to make reconciliation for iniquity, and to bring in everlasting righteousness, and to seal up the vision and prophecy, and to anoint the most Holy.
Daniel 9: 25 Know therefore and understand, that from the going forth of the commandment to restore and to build Jerusalem unto the Messiah the Prince shall be seven weeks, and threescore and two weeks: the street shall be built again, and the wall, even in troublous times.
Daniel 9: 26 And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself: and the people of the prince that shall come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.
When was Jesus born, let us take a look at D&C SECTION 20:1
1 The rise of the Church of Christ in these last days, being one thousand eight hundred and thirty years since the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in the flesh, it being regularly organized and established agreeable to the laws of our country, by the will and commandments of God, in the fourth month, and on the sixth day of the month which is called April.

The Adoration of the Shepherds, by James Tissot
“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah 9:6)
As December moves forward, many Christians will be thinking about the miracle of the coming of the Messiah. And not only Christians.
On the other hand, Messianic Believers understand that Yeshua (Jesus) was not born in December. And the holiday that falls on December 25th is not one of the appointed days of the Lord (moadim).
Nevertheless, this is the time of year when many are confronted in a variety of ways with the Good News of the coming of the Savior of Mankind.
December, therefore, is a wonderful time to brush up on Bible prophecy so that we are knowledgeable when sharing the Messiah with our families, friends, the lost, and the lonely.
In fact, many Jewish Believers continue to come to faith through these Scriptures.
Although there is great opposition to Yeshua (Jesus), when He began His ministry 2,000 years ago in the hills of Galilee, He had a major benefit going for Him: a great many Jewish people were expecting the appearance of the Messiah as prophesied by the Hebrew prophet Daniel.
The Angel Gabriel told Daniel:
“Know and understand this: From the time the word goes out to restore and rebuild Jerusalem until the Anointed One, the ruler, comes, there will be seven ‘sevens,’ and sixty-two ‘sevens.’ It will be rebuilt with streets and a trench, but in times of trouble.” (Daniel 9:25)
This verse gives us the key to the timing of the coming of the Messiah.
Yeshua, the Anointed One, fulfilled this timing perfectly when He was born of a virgin (almah in Hebrew, see Isaiah 7:14) and mikvahed (baptized) by His cousin Yochanan the Immerser (John the Baptist).
Daniel wrote this prophecy in Babylonian exile in the sixth century BC while also studying prophecies already recorded by other Hebrew prophets like Jeremiah. (Daniel 9:2)
Just like Daniel, when we study prophecy in the Scriptures, we can learn a great many important facts about the Messiah, such as who the Messiah is, when He would come, the season for His return, and what He will do when He comes again.

Yeshua Fulfills More Prophecies of His Coming
The same Angel Gabriel who announced to Daniel the timing of Messiah’s arrival also participated in its fulfillment when he announced to Miriam (Mary) that she was to give birth to the Holy One of Israel (Luke 1:26–33).
With the birth of Yeshua, the following Biblical prophesies were fulfilled:
Prophecy: Isaiah 7:14—Isaiah prophesied that a virgin or pure young woman (almah) will give birth to the Promised One.
Fulfilled: Luke 1:26–31
Prophecy: Isaiah 9:6—Isaiah prophesied that Messiah Yeshua would come as a baby; Yeshua is described by several names—“Wonderful, Counselor,” “The mighty God,” “The Father of Everlasting,” “The Prince of Peace.”
Fulfilled: Luke 2:1–20
Prophecy: Numbers 24:17—Balaam predicts that the Messiah will descend from the house of Jacob—“I see him, but not now; I behold Him, but not near. A star will come out of Jacob; a scepter will rise out of Israel. He will crush the foreheads of Moab, the skulls of all the people of Sheth.”
Fulfilled: Matthew 1:2–16

Prophecy: Isaiah 9:7—The Messiah shall be of the house of David. Yosef (Joseph) was of the line of David, as was Miriam (Mary).
Fulfilled: Luke 3:23–38 tracks Yeshua’s lineage on Joseph’s side; Matthew 1:1–16 tracks Miriam’s (Mary) side.
Prophecy: Micah 5:2—Micah prophesied that Yeshua would be born in Bethlehem.
Fulfilled: Luke 2:4–7.
Prophecy: Genesis 49:10—He would be a member of the tribe of Judah—“The scepter shall not depart from Judah, nor the ruler’s staff from between His feet, until tribute comes to Him; and to Him shall be the obedience of the peoples.”
Fulfilled: Matthew 1:2.
Prophecy: Malachi 3:1—Yeshua would enter the Temple. This is important because no one would be able to enter the Temple again after it was destroyed in AD 70, about 40 years after Yeshua’s death.
Fulfilled: Luke 2:25–27 tells us that Yeshua was brought as an infant to the Temple to be consecrated, and Simeon is there waiting His arrival. And daily, Yeshua taught at the Temple when He was in Jerusalem. (Luke 19:47)

Other Prophetic Fulfillment
In addition to fulfilling prophecies of His coming, Yeshua’s life was a testimony of numerous other fulfilled prophetic Scriptures:
Prophecies: Yeshua would live a sinless life, die on a Roman execution stake, be raised from the dead, ascend into heaven, and sit at the right hand of God: Psalm 22:16; Psalm 16:10; Isaiah 53:10–11; Psalm 68:18; Psalm 110:1.
Fulfilled: 1 Peter 2:21–22; Luke 23:33; Acts 2:25–32; Acts 1:9; Hebrews 1:3.
