The Last Resurrection / Rapture–April 3, 4033 A.D.–Easter

The Last Resurrection–The rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished.

Revelation 20:4-6

4 And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgment was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had received his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.

5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.

Verse 5 concludes with the statement, “This is the first resurrection.” This verse feels like the wrong place for this. Is it because it touches on the topic of the last resurrection? Verse 6 would be a better place to place the  because it talks about the first resurrection. It seems more logical once you understand these events.

6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and Christ and shall reign with him a thousand years.

Note: This could be easily misread. According to verse 4, both the saints and those who are martyred for their faith in Jesus Christ will dwell with Him on Earth for 1000 years.

Verse 5 clarifies that the rest of the dead did not experience resurrection until the completion of the thousand years.

The first resurrection is for those who faithfully follow Christ’s commandments, as God extends forgiveness to whom He wills. The individuals who repent of their sins or the individuals who pray and pursue righteousness.

Those who will be judged according to the flesh are part of the second resurrection.

Doctrine and Covenants 88: 101-102

101 And these are the rest of the dead; and they live not again until the thousand years are ended, neither again, until the end of the earth.

102 And another trump shall sound, which is the fourth trump, saying: There are found among those who are to remain until that great and last day, even the end, who shall remain filthy still.

Hosea 4:6 – My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
